In light of the recent Hollywood glaze that frosted the Tony scene recently, the thought of what it takes for actors to go into other fields is one that some don’t think twice about but others mull over.
Scarlett Johansson, Zooey Deschanel are both talented and respected actors that have made the transition over to music and other fields. She and Him (Deschanel’s band) is currently on tour performing sold out shows but other actors have to prove themselves over and over again before they become a truly respected musical artist or even get that coveted record deal.

'One Tree Hill' actress Jana Kramer (also known for roles on Grey's Anatomy, Entourage, Friday Night Lights, and 90210) has put on two showcases in the last three months displaying her singing chops in none other then Nashville, Tennessee. The 26-year-old Kramer didn’t neglect her fans that have followed her acting career, after her performances she hosted a meet and greet and chatted with anyone who stayed behind.

On branching out and singing professionally Kramer said, “It’s a different thing because it’s more personal. Usually I am playing different characters and hiding behind them but my music is so raw, its so me. I am very passionate about my music and singing and it is a nice switch. It feels real to me.”
What seems to be the case is that entertainers are finding other outlets to be creative and express themselves. In the last few years we have seen more and more entertainers branch out in other areas and while some fail at this, others flourish and fans get to see some of their favorite entertainers in a new capacity.
