Roger Staubach did. “He'll be in the Ring of Honor,”

Receiver Drew Pearson could be the next player welcomed by the Cowboys into their Ring of Honor.
Owner Jerry Jones didn’t address this possibility. Roger Staubach did.
“He’ll be in the Ring of Honor,” Staubach said Monday after taking part in a press conference for the North Texas Super Bowl Host Committee.
The former Cowboys quarterback was so forceful in his declaration that he was asked if it was a done deal. He paused for a few seconds, then answered.
“I’ve had real strong indications,” Staubach said. “I don’t want to politic or anything, but Drew Pearson is a Ring of Honor player if there ever was a Ring of Honor player. Jerry has told me that, too.
“I’m hoping when they continue the Ring of Honor that Drew will be right there. I would be surprised if he wasn’t.”
Jones could not be reached to respond but is scheduled to hold a news conference at the NFL’s media hotel Tuesday afternoon.
The Cowboys haven’t inducted anyone into the Ring since The Triplets — Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin — were enshrined in 2005. Staubach stressed the decision is up to Jones and Jones alone, but he said he knows that, “Jerry really feels good about Drew Pearson.
“Drew Pearson, his quality of play is unbelievable if you look at what he did and what he meant to the Cowboys. It will happen.”
Coaching carousel: The Cowboys announced the addition of an assistant Monday and learned one they let go will interview for the head coaching job in Tennessee.
Matt Eberflus has been added to the defensive staff to coach linebackers. Eberflus worked the last two seasons in Cleveland under new Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. His previous 17 years of experience came in the college ranks.
Eberflus replaced Reggie Herring, who was allowed to take a similar position with the Houston Texans.
Also, an associate of Ray Sherman has confirmed that the Cowboys’ former wide receivers coach will interview for the job of head coach with the Titans. Sherman interviewed for the head coaching job in Dallas and was informed shortly after the job went to Jason Garrett that his contract would not be renewed.
Titans offensive line coach Mike Munchak interviewed for the job Monday and is considered the front-runner.
