Why Jerry Sloan has Announced he will no longer be the Utah Jazz Head Coach?

The Thursday after the Super Bowl is typically one of most uneventful sports days of the year. This Thursday has been anything but uneventful.

The Utah Jazz made an announcement to spice up this Sloan moving day. You see what I just did there? In case your punny bone needs fine-tuning, what I am trying to say is that Jerry Sloan has announced he will no longer be the Utah Jazz head coach.

Before the announcement, Sloan, 68, was the longest tenured coach in American professional sports. Initial reports indicate that this announcement may have been brought on by the friction between Sloan and point guard, Deron Williams.

Sloan isn't the only one who has to move on Thursday. The Ottawa Senators have traded Mike Fisher to the Nashville Predators. The trade gives the Predators an accomplished goal scorer and Carrie Underwood her husband. Fisher and Underwood were married last summer and Underwood lives in Nashville.

If you turn down your Carrie Underwood music for a moment, you should be able to hear the sound of Cam Newton's draft stock soaring. Newton has been working out since the end of the season and he invited media members to watch him on Thursday.

Needless to say, those that watched him were impressed. ESPN's Trent Dilfer called his performance "phenomenal" and said scouts would be "slobbering" had they seen the "gifted, gifted passer."

Stay tuned as we dive in to discuss these and other topics as we get you set to end the last day before Friday
