Leon Russell as one of Several Music

Bluesfest has announced a third lineup of artists for its April 21-25 festival, and now boasts Leon Russell as one of several music legends that will perform.

Bluesfest is held in Byron Bay, Australia, and is billed as the continent's "favourite counter-culture, family-orientated, ethnically and artistically diverse music festival."

Once again, Bluesfest 2011 offers its passionate fans a very tasty - almost holy - array of simply the best local and international blues and roots music with its renowned blend of multi-genre, multi-demographic and multi-generational sounds.

According to Sydney music guide Faster Louder, Bluesfest already had quite a lineup in motion and previously made two announcements listing a veritable Who's Who of blues masters.

Bluesfest's first announcement listed over two dozen acts, and bragged such luminaries as Bob Dylan, B.B. King and Mavis Staples. The festival came back with a second announcement of twenty-four more acts that included Booker T., Grace Jones, and John Legend.

The lastest lineup of more than a dozen artists not only adds Leon Russell, but George Clinton and one of my personal favorites, Michelle Shocked.

Last year's Bluesfest won 2010 Australian Event of the Year and Best Cultural or Arts Event at the Australian Event Awards.

The exact date(s) Russell will perform his unique blend of rock & blues at the festival has not yet been published, so we've added the full week to his 2011 Tour Schedule until more information is available.
